The Caraquet municipal council is proud to have inscribed in posterity the name of its third mayor, Lorenzo Morais.

Mayor from 1969 to 1974, Mr. Morais devoted himself wholeheartedly to developing the town of Caraquet. He managed the largest plumbing company in the province, built a shopping center, but focused primarily on developing the industrial park, where he succeeded in attracting a textile company. Despite the short-lived success of Cirtex, it’s worth noting that the building still houses over two hundred workers every day.
The industrial park will now be known as the “Lorenzo-Morais Industrial Park.”
