Industrial Park

The industrial park and the seaport, combined with the tourism sector and the presence of our SMEs, are all essential components of the economic development of the City of Caraquet. Our industrial park has received an A rating from the province of New Brunswick, due to its capacity and the services it offers. It provides all the essential services for the operations of an SME (fiber optics, high-speed electricity, etc.) operating in various sectors.

As for our seaport, it's a facility that generates significant economic benefits for the community. Did you know that the Caraquet wharf was one of the first in Canada to be managed by a port authority that oversees the site's development, user services, and mooring fees? The Port Committee, composed of businesspeople, ensures that all users (plant owners, fishing vessel owner-captains, and recreational boaters) receive the appropriate services. The Caraquet port area is home to a major industry where inshore, semi-offshore, and offshore fishers work in harmony with the New Brunswick Fisheries School, part of the New Brunswick Community College, Acadian Peninsula campus. Processing plants and recreational boaters use the boat launch during the summer.

The mission of the Greater Caraquet Chamber of Commerce and Tourism is to participate in the economic development of the entire region and to promote the prosperity of business people and the growth of their businesses. The organization works in partnership with various regional economic stakeholders in addition to playing a proactive role within the business community. It offers members services that meet their needs.
