The Acadian Festival of Caraquet, the great celebration of Acadia! The Acadian Festival is the flagship event of Acadia in the Atlantic provinces, recognized for the quality of its programming and the professionalism of its organization. The Acadian Festival aims to promote Acadian culture and the French fact in a festive way with an openness to the world.
Founded in 1997, the Acadian Poetry Festival is the oldest Francophone literary festival in Atlantic Canada. It aims to be a showcase for the diversity of Canadian literature, and takes the gamble of promoting it by highlighting the authors themselves.
Centre-Ville Caraquet presents the Festival of Fear, a festival with programming for both children and adults, taking place in October. Our activities will be exceptionally varied.
Approximately 150 young people from eight school theatre troupes across New Brunswick will present their plays at the Caraquet Cultural Centre. Professional artists will lead eight training workshops. Around 20 certificates of recognition will be awarded at the closing ceremony of this 21st edition of the FTJA. This is a great opportunity to grow and forge new connections!
For two decades now, about thirty visual artists from different regions of Canada and sometimes from abroad come to meet the general public at the event.
