Cedar shingles; guardians of our beautiful homes!

Thank you to the residents of Caraquet who are giving their heritage homes a fresh new look by choosing cedar shingles as their siding. The use of this type of siding dates back to the village’s founding. It was the most common material used to cover our houses. Widely available in the region, cedar produces good quality shingles that are relatively easy to work with and naturally retain their beauty for at least two generations. Today, despite its relatively high price, remember that it is easy to install and anyone with average skills can do it.

Let’s admit that our shingle-covered houses contribute greatly to the beauty of our city. Thank you!
